Package #2 - Photography Workshop Two Week Special July 25 to August 8, 2017

Many of our guests have enjoyed our workshops and have requested a longer stay.  The following package is offered as a two-week workshop at discounted rates for those looking to spend more time and get a more in depth look at the Lake Clark/Katmai area.

Our early August workshop gets you into some of our peak bear viewing in remote tundra locations, with chances to view bears fishing for bright red spawning salmon in crystal-clear streams.  This workshop also includes an extended backcountry camping experience to give you a chance to take a more intimate look at one of the many amazing locations in our part of Alaska.

Day 1:
-1:00 p.m. check in for flight from Anchorage to The Farm Lodge. The flight to the lodge takes you through the scenic Lake Clark Pass, where you will see glaciers and glacial streams in one of Alaska's most beautiful mountainous settings.

-Check in to The Farm Lodge. Lodging includes a room with private bath, home-cooked Alaskan meals, and daily maid service.

-Orientation and setup with professional photographer/naturalist Jim Barr.

Day 2:
-Floatplane Fire and Ice Tour. Travel by floatplane over some of Alaska's must rugged and breathtaking landscape. This day takes you to see active volcanoes, glaciers, mountains, and tundra landscape.

-Optional evening floatplane shoot at remote lake.

Day 3:
-Morning review and workshop (to be held each morning after breakfast).

-Floatplane fly-out for photographing Grizzly/Brown Bears, spawning Salmon, and scenic landscape.  This is peak time for photographing bears at Brooks Camp in Katmai National Park.  This day keeps us out into the evening to enjoy a box dinner and evening light.

Day 4:
-Floatplane scenic tour of Lake Clark National Park's mountainous lakes for landscape photography. This day includes photography focusing on glacial-fed mountainous lakes and tundra landscapes as well as time at Dick Proenne's historical cabin on Twin Lakes. If you get a chance to pick up a book entitled One Man's Wildernes, it will give you some great background of the area.

-Optional evening shoot on Lake Clark by boat.

Day 5:
-Boat on Lake Clark for scenic landscape photography. Lake Clark is over 40 miles long, sitting in the edge of the Chimit Mountans. This day in the boat offers access to spectacular landscape and scenery.

-Optional evening shoot on Lake Clark by boat.

Day 6:
-Local hiking to the Lake Clark National Park Service Visitor's Center, Tanalian Falls, and Kontrashibuna Lake.

-Optional evening shoot on Lake Clark by boat.

Day 7:
-Boat on Lake Clark for scenic landscape photography.

Day 8:
-Unguided open day for local hiking.

Day 9:
-Floatplane fly-out for photographing Grizzly/Brown Bears, spawning Salmon, and scenic landscape.

At the end of this day you will be dropped at a scenic remote lake for guided camping, hiking, and photography, Your camping time gives you opportunites to photograph tundra, mountainous and glacial lanscape, in morning, day, and evening light.

The Farm Lodge will provide camping equipment (tents, cots, sleeping bags, cook kit, and food) for this portion of your stay.

Day 10:
-Local exploring and photography at remote camp.

Day 11:
-Local exploring and photography at remote camp.

Day 12:
-Late afternoon pick up at remote lake and return to The Farm Lodge.

Day 13:
-Local hiking to the Lake Clark National Park Service Visitor's Center, Tanalian Falls, and Kontrashibuna Lake.

-Optional evening shoot on Lake Clark by boat.

Day 14:
-9:00 a.m. check out of and return flight to Anchorage

-PRICE= $17,475.00 per person (party of 2) includes free upgrade to deluxe suite room.

Our packages are designed for small groups and provide you with a personalized experience. The activities take you into Alaska's most remote areas for chances to photograph bears, caribou, eagles, tundra, glaciers, waterfalls, mountains, and much more. The floatplane and guides are with you for the day, giving you the flexibility to move about and explore the best of the remote Alaska backcountry. These tours truly take you away from the crowd and into Alaska the way it is meant to be experienced.

The Farm Lodge is now taking reservations for 2017 through 2019. A 50% deposit is required in order to hold a reservation against other inquiries, with balance due 2 months before the date of your stay. The deposit is refundable up to 80% only if all cancellations are made no less than 60 days before the scheduled travel date. If you are planning a visit in 2018 or 2019, you can take advantage of our 2017 rates by making reservations before January 1 of 2018. Important Notes
*Due to the varied age of our staff and the wide diversity of groups we host at The Farm Lodge, we do not allow alcoholic beverages in the main lodge building (dining room). The Farm Lodge does not serve lunch in its dining room but provides excellent box lunches for each day of your stay. The above packages include the transportation of up to 75 pounds of luggage per person between Anchorage and Lake Clark, with everything over 75 pounds traveling at 90 cents per pound, each way. The package rates also include park service fees and taxes. The rates do not include voluntary gratuities.

The actual flight departure and pick up times may vary, depending on the date of your stay.
